I started to write about doing the right thing and realized that I should apply that thought to the present gridlock in Congress. Actually, deadlock is a better word.

This dysfunctional brinkmanship is a disgrace that will lead to financial disaster. It is crazy.

So, let me ask our Senators and our Representatives why they can’t get themselves to ultimately do the right thing for the benefit of our Nation, for the benefit of all of US. Not because they don’t like the fact that we have a black President. Not because they are jockeying to remain in power or come into power. Not because they wish to keep the vast array of perks that come with their jobs. Not because they think that they are exclusively responsible to the voters in their own district to the detriment of our Nation as a whole. Not …….

I understand that doing the right is hard. You know that doing the right thing is hard. These quotes will drive that point home:

Please, Senators and Representatives, show some character befitting your office and do the right thing.
